Both Blakedown Sport & Play and Blakedown Landscapes (SE) have won a number of sports pitch and landscaping projects recently.

One contract won by Sport & Play is at the Thorns School in Brierley Hill, which has recently commenced work as a main contractor for Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council. The project will include the construction of a full size 3rd generation pitch using an Edel Soccer Standard carpet, which will be enclosed with fencing and floodlighting. As well as the 3G pitch, a 30 x 30m multi-use games area will also be installed using a polymeric surface. The MUGA will also be finished off with fencing and floodlighting. The project value will total over half a million pounds with completion scheduled for December this year.

Another contract won is for St Pauls Academy in Abbey Wood. Blakedown Sport & Play has been sub-contracted by Rydon Construction to install:

A new 3G pitch
2 MUGAs with perimeter fencing
A running track
And two natural pitches

The project is due to finish in early spring of 2010.

Blakedown Landscapes (SE) has almost completed hard landscaping works to Mallet Place, University College London. The project is scheduled to be complete for the end September, with works including:

Breaking and removing existing surfacing, replacing with York stone sets, tarmacadam, resin bounded and resin bonded gravel, and black granite
Replacement of the existing man hole covers including re-setting to new levels
The provision of a stainless steel green wall
Light tape, LED and cold cathode lighting being installed in various locations throughout.

Other projects currently being worked on by the companies are:

Kniveton CE School installation of an artificial sports pitch with new fencing and associated drainage and surface works, and a small play area including equipment.

Nagshead Estate environmental improvements to the courtyard, and an external boundary to the existing residential blocks.

North Liverpool Academy installation of a sand-filled sports pitch with shockpad.

Woodbridge High School installation of a 3G football training/coaching facility with perimeter fencing, floodlighting and associated works
