Surface matters

Our range of Athletics 365 surfaces, meet International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) standards. The surfaces are designed to meet varying requirements in terms of performance and budget. As a civil engineering company, Blakedown Sport and Play are able to undertake new build projects from the initial excavation through to the white lining, fencing, floodlighting and track equipment.

Surface refurbishment and replacement of existing facilities is also out forte, including surfaces for indoor facilities.

Athletics 365 P…

is a porous system meeting IAAF standards. As a soft system it provides an ideal training surface for top athletes and a competition surface for schools and clubs. Athletics 365 P is an economical system designed for up to 50,000 users per annum. Built on an engineered foundation, polyurethane bound rubber granules form the base layer, overlaid with a spray coat of coloured ethylene Propylene Diene modified (EPDM) rubber granules and colour pigmented polyurethane.

Athletics 365 SW…

is a harder non-porous system, Using the same base construction as Athletics 365 P, the surface is finished with a coloured EPDM rubber granulated cast into polyurethane top coat. Meeting the IAAF standards, this system is designed for up to 100,000 users per year.

Athletics 365 S…

is a solid, impervious durable system. This premier product is designed to meet the highest IAAF standard for international athletics meetings. The surface of three polyliquid layers is given a textured finish using specially formulated coloured EPDM rubber granules. As constructed by Blakedown at Manchester for the 2004 AAA Championships.
